Saint Joan with bannerAlthough everywhere in the world people have heard of Joan of Arc, or Jeanne d’Arc, there are many who believe that she never existed at all, or that she is somewhat of a legend or that there are no documents about her whatsoever. These people are wrong.

There are in fact many documents from that time (15th century) that enable us to really get to know St. Joan, such as the official trial records, written by judges hostile to her. Besides that, there are no less than one hundred sixteen sworn statements from people who actually knew her, written down during her rehabilitation process: family members, childhood friends, soldiers, captains, nobles, priests and bishops… Joan is one of the best documented saints from her time, and this is how we can really get to know and love her.
